Get to know Gertie in her featured interview:
Lead Web Designer
Gertie likes to wake up to over-easy eggs with jalapeño peppers and Trader Joe's Cold Brew Concentrate, barely diluted. Shhh!
Gertie has been building websites since the late 90s. She understands the importance of being able to zig when the Internet zags.
She wakes up websites by organizing information in a way that forces viewers to engage with and remember the content.
Wake-up moments: In my Junior year of high school I realized that I could get started on life early. Professors couldn't possibly know enough about this New Fangled Internet to teach about it. I got out of school and started building websites. I have to teach myself EVERY day to keep up with the web's pace!
Business to Business Consultant
Larry likes to wake up to a pot of light roast coffee, freshly ground, black. That's right--a whole pot.
Larry has worked as a motivational speaker, writer and radio host. He also has a background in real estate, lending, and sales management.
Wake-up moments: Larry worked with banks during the 2008 crisis, to find and repair severe financial problems. This included working directly with customers to negotiate solutions to save their homes. Larry brings these skills to Waking Girl clients who may need creative ideas to survive the changing economy.
Sara wakes up to drink a full 12oz of fresh water with her morning Vitamin C, and then starts the day off with a blended protein smoothie.
She wakes up websites by bringing superb attention to detail and quality customer care to the clients that need us.
Wake Up Moments:
At this point in my life I’ve really learned to point my toes downstream and "Trust the River." I'm proud to say that I’ve been sober since NYE 2018. Shortly after that, the man who became the love of my life and the father of my two children hit me up as a stranger with a Facebook DM. He shot his shot and he did not miss! (Moral of the Story: stop being afraid and just Go For It!)

Franki enjoys Computer Sandwiches for breakfast. She is an art prodigy who has displayed her clay creations across the country.
At Waking Girl she audits sites on Maintenance Plans--clicking buttons to make sure everything is working. Franki converts engaged Facebook users to Fans. She also assists the Lead Designer in choosing colors, fonts and graphics for websites and Facebook posts.
You know sometimes I don't always eat breakfast, I'll get so busy by the time I sit down to eat, It's lunchtime! BUT... My go- to breakfast would be avocado toast topped with over easy egg, bacon, and hot sauce! Don't forget the coffee. I can forget my breakfast but I can't forget my morning coffee. French vanilla creamer with some sugar. MMM!
To wake up websites I like to add the stuff that matters. I ask myself "Is this functional" or "Does this make sense?" not just "Does this look good" Although we all know that matters, as well.
Wake- up moment: These last 2 years my biggest wake up call has been that no one is going to do it for you. Having children makes you stop and think what is really important. Out of all the lessons she has taught me, that's the one that stuck with me the most. So go out and get it done! :)
